August 2013 Great Ancoats st Bridge and Brownsfield Lock Work Event

On Sunday 25th August we had a clean up and repair day on the Rochdale canal around the Brownsfield Mill lock and Ancoats Lane lock (between Tariff St and Great Ancoats st).

Work included:

– Brownsfield Mill duck house ramp install and gardening the surrounding area.

– Reset some of the cobblestones / sets & improve the surface using a dry mix around Brownsfield Lock and footpath bridge area

– Litter Pick

– Painting the Great  Ancoats st Bridge tunnel walls to remove offensive graffiti.

  1. Well done. I started the Littleborough Canal Adoption Group with CRT here in Littleborough and am trying to get people interested.
    We ourselves are now getting noticed after 11 months.
    We have so far got 2 dog waist bins and 1 Rubbish Bin put in by The Rochdale Council along The Rochdale Canal here in Littleborough 🙂
